I really enjoyed how Dr. Casey explained the terms of Jencks in his presentation with architecture. It was extremely easy to understand the complex terms when shown the pictures of the different types of buildings. I found the anamnesis buildings the most interesting. When originally reading Jencks I wasn’t sure how to picture this term in the form of buildings. It was much easier to see and understand when seeing the buildings like the rubrics cube. This building I found very interesting and I could see it mentally moved you. It was interesting to see a building in that much detailed and easily relate it to a thing. It was very different then anything I had every seen before It with the birds nest that falls under the same category. The building was so extravagant and out there it was extremely interesting to see the architecture and also to see how different these buildings were from the classical architecture style. It shows how modern and different buildings have changed and grown and been reinvented. Going through the periods and looking at different buildings in each category was very interesting to connect different times together and see different ways of expressing ideas. It shows how different artists think and bring many differences to their desired style. Art is about expression and Dr. Casey’s presentation showed us many different ways artists have expressed themselves in the form of architecture.
