"Love the New Skin You're In"
After reading the article "Love the Skin You're In" I immediately thought of the class discussion we had on Tuesday. On Tuesday we discussed some common phrases of Jenks. One of the phrases was "tradition reinterpreted." Tradition reinterpreted is a relationship between the past and present. Many architectural pieces now use ideas from the past. Another phrase of Jenks that this article reminded me of was Urbane Urbanism. Urbane Urbanism discusses a setting and how there must be balance. Jenks states that "new buildings, should both fit into and extend the urban context, reuse such constants as the street, arcade, and piazza, yet acknowledge to the new technologies and means of transportation's." This article does not show Urbane Urbanism, but represents the opposite.
